I wash them in a big machine.
Add detergent and pre-wash at 40°C for 5 minutes. Wash at 55°C for 10 minutes. Rinse once with hot water and twice with cold water for a total of 3 times.
After that, the machine applies glue and dehydrates the fabric.
The glue is based on cornstarch, which is harmless to eat.
